The summer has arrived, and the enthusiasm is as fiery as ever. On July 30, 2023, the "Minimally Invasive Endoscopic Ultrasound Academic Conference" was successfully held. Organized by the Sichuan Provincial Bioinformatics Society, and undertaken by the Digestive Minimally Invasive Branch of the Sichuan Provincial Bioinformatics Society, the Department of Gastroenterology of West China Public Health College/West China Fourth Hospital, and the Chronic Disease Etiology and Prevention Research Center of the West China-Xiehe Chen Zhiqian Health Research Institute, we were fortunate to invite renowned experts in the field of endoscopic ultrasound to discuss and exchange ideas on clinical techniques, hot issues, and advanced concepts through an online meeting. The conference was broadcast live on the Tencent Meeting platform and WeChat Video Account, with a total viewing volume of more than 7,000 people.

    The conference began with Director Liao Juan from West China Fourth Hospital introducing the construction and development of the department, as well as its phased achievements. Professor Ding Zhen from the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University delivered the opening speech of the conference, affirming our achievements in digestive endoscopic ultrasound and the academic activities of endoscopic ultrasound held in previous periods.

    Subsequently, Professor Hu Duanmin from the Second Hospital of Soochow University, Professor Wang Dong from Ruijin Hospital affiliated with Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Professor Guo Jintao from Shengjing Hospital affiliated with China Medical University, and Professor Wang Rui from West China Hospital of Sichuan University shared their in-depth experiences on the identification of extrinsic compression of the upper gastrointestinal tract by endoscopic ultrasound, the combination of endoscopic ultrasound with FNA/FNB, endoscopic ultrasound-guided anastomosis of hollow viscera, and the diagnosis and treatment of pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors. Professor Han Chaoqun from Union Hospital affiliated with Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Professor Liu Weihui from Sichuan Provincial People's Hospital, Professor Dan Jing from the Third People's Hospital of Chengdu, and Professor Wen Hongxu from the Second People's Hospital of Lanzhou shared their profound insights on the application of endoscopic ultrasound in intestinal diseases, biliary diseases, early pancreatic cancer, and ampullary cancer of the duodenum.

    During the conference, Professor Wang Chunhui from West China Hospital of Sichuan University, Professor Li Bin from the Affiliated Hospital of Guilin Medical University, Professor Zhao Rui from Sichuan Cancer Hospital, Professor Zhao Kui from the First Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu Medical College, Professor Ling Ying from the Affiliated Hospital of North Sichuan Medical College, Professor Zou Yu from Mianyang Central Hospital, Professor Jing Xiaojuan from Suining Central Hospital, and Professor Chen Ou from Ya'an People's Hospital served as hosting guests, interacting warmly with the lecturers and online audience on related issues.

    This conference brought a splendid academic feast to peers in the field, further promoting exchanges and cooperation between workers in related fields within the province and well-known hospitals and experts nationwide, and promoting the refined development of clinical research in digestive endoscopy.
