【Meeting Dynamics】The Sixth Session of the West China Hospital TTR Amyloidosis Diagnosis and Treatment Series Training Was Successfully Convened.

   In an effort to further advance the specialty of cardiac TTR amyloidosis in our province and the western regions, to enhance the standardized diagnosis and treatment of this condition, to minimize misdiagnosis, missed diagnosis, and improper treatment, and to improve the quality of life and prognosis for patients with cardiac TTR amyloidosis, the "West China Hospital TTR Amyloidosis Diagnosis and Treatment Series Training" was held on November 14, 2023, at 19:00 in Chengdu. The event was organized by the Sichuan Provincial Bioinformatics Society, with the collaboration of the Rare Disease Professional Committee of the Sichuan Provincial Medical Association and the Rare Disease Center of West China Hospital of Sichuan University. Distinguished experts in the field of cardiac TTR amyloidosis diagnosis and treatment were invited to present academic reports and engage in case discussions during the thematic academic conference.

   The conference was conducted both online and offline, with over 80 participants attending in person and more than 200 experts and scholars joining online for the training. The conference was chaired by Professors Chen Yucheng and Shang Huifang from West China Hospital of Sichuan University.

   Professor Chen Yucheng, the Director of the Department of Internal Medicine at West China Hospital of Sichuan University, and Professor Shang Huifang, the Deputy Director of the Neurology Department, commenced the conference. They introduced the guest speakers and expressed their heartfelt gratitude before proceeding to the educational segment of the training.

   Professor Chen Yucheng delivered a lecture on "Expert Consensus on the Diagnosis and Treatment of Cardiac TTR Amyloidosis."

   Professor Zhao Bi from West China Hospital of Sichuan University presented "Diagnosis and Treatment Consensus for Transthyretin Amyloidosis Polyneuropathy."

   Professor Zhao Zhen from West China Hospital of Sichuan University shared a case study titled "Regular Follow-up and Case Sharing of ATTR Patient PYP Imaging."

   Professor Mo Chunhua from the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University discussed "Diagnosis Experience and Case Sharing of Cardiac Amyloidosis."

   Professor Shang Huifang shared insights on "Multidisciplinary Management Decision Pathway for Cardiac Amyloidosis."

   Professor Huang He from the First Affiliated Hospital of West China Hospital of Sichuan University presented the "Research Progress in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Cardiac Amyloidosis."

   Professor Luo Suxin from the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University provided a presentation on "Key Points in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Cardiac Amyloidosis."

   Professor Zhang Zhen from the Third People's Hospital of Chengdu explained the "Clinical Guidelines for Amyloidosis."

   The conference then moved to a discussion segment, which intensely debated how to standardize the follow-up management of genetic mutation patients identified through family screening, how to increase clinical enthusiasm for diagnosing elderly patients with cardiac amyloidosis (wild type or hereditary), and how to optimize the cooperation mechanisms and models between MDT departments for amyloidosis.

To conclude the training, Professor Shang Huifang provided a brief summary of the content, thanked Dr. Meng Lingchao, Professor Luo Suxin, and Dr. Cao Bei for their contributions, and expressed her hope that participants would continue to learn and improve through the series of rare disease trainings on cardiac TTR amyloidosis, enhancing their screening and diagnostic capabilities to better serve patients. She also extended her gratitude to all for their participation and support in the training conference.
