【Meeting Brief】The "Smart Pharmacy Service" Academic Conference of the Smart Pharmacy Service Branch of Sichuan Provincial Bioinformatics Society was successfully held

   Utilizing cutting-edge technologies such as big data, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, and 5G to provide intelligent and information technology support for pharmacy services in different application scenarios and work requirements is an essential path for the development of pharmacy services. To support the transformation of pharmacy services and promote the construction of smart pharmacy services, the "Smart Pharmacy Service" academic conference, hosted by West China Hospital of Sichuan University, Sichuan Pharmaceutical Association, and Sichuan Provincial Bioinformatics Society, was successfully held on December 22, 2023, at the Shangri-La Hotel in Chengdu. The conference brought together experts, scholars, and researchers in the fields of pharmacy, informatics, and computer science to discuss the latest research progress, technology applications, and development trends in smart pharmacy services.

   At the conference, Professor He Jinhan, the head of the Department of Clinical Pharmacy (Pharmacy) of West China Hospital of Sichuan University, delivered a speech, stating that under new circumstances, the development of pharmacy services requires us to fully utilize mobile Internet and other information technologies to optimize service processes, improve service efficiency, continuously expand the time and space of pharmacy services, enhance the matching of supply and demand for pharmacy services, and establish a full-process, smart service model covering before, during, and after the event. Professor Zeng Guojun, Secretary-General of the Sichuan Provincial Bioinformatics Society, said in his speech that smart pharmacy services, as a cutting-edge topic in the field of medical and health services, have become an important part of medical services. The Sichuan Provincial Bioinformatics Society has been committed to promoting the development of smart pharmacy services and promoting the application of bioinformatics in the field of medicine and health, contributing to the development of the medical and health cause.

   In the academic report session, Professor Wang Zhuo from the Department of Pharmacy of the First Affiliated Hospital of the Naval Medical University (Changhai Hospital in Shanghai), Professor Liu Yao from the Pharmacy Department of the Army Specialty Medical Center, Professor Zhou Houfeng from the Department of Pharmacy of the Fifth People's Hospital of Chengdu, Professor Liu Yongfang from the Department of Infectious Diseases of the Third People's Hospital of Chengdu, Professor Shi Qingke from the Internet Hospital Office of West China Hospital of Sichuan University, Professor Zhan Luchuan from the Department of Pharmacy of Guangdong Provincial People's Hospital, Professor Tian Tinglun from the Breast Disease Center of West China Hospital of Sichuan University, Professor Su Na from the Department of Clinical Pharmacy (Pharmacy) of West China Hospital of Sichuan University, Professor Cheng Kai from the Department of Pharmacy of Sichuan Cancer Hospital, and Professor Wu Bin from the Department of Clinical Pharmacy (Pharmacy) of West China Hospital of Sichuan University successively shared their insights on the construction and thinking of the informatization and intelligence of the pharmacy, practical experience of smart pharmacy outpatient services, and the opportunities and challenges faced by hospital pharmacists in the face of smart pharmacy services.

      The conference facilitated academic exchange and cooperation in the field of smart pharmacy services, provided a valuable communication platform for researchers and the industry, deeply discussed key technologies and application prospects of smart pharmacy services, provided new ideas and directions for future research and development, showcased the latest research results and practical application cases in the field of smart pharmacy services, enhanced the innovation capability and competitiveness of the field, strengthened the connection and interaction among participants, and laid a solid foundation for future academic exchange and cooperation.
