Nursing Informatics is an interdisciplinary field that combines nursing science, computer science, and information science. It aims to facilitate the integration of nursing data, information, and knowledge by managing and transmitting them in nursing practice, thereby providing decision support for patients, nurses, and related personnel during the care process. Nursing informatics has become an essential quality and skill for nursing personnel, indicating the future direction of nursing development. The roles of informatics nurses and nursing informatics experts are emerging as desirable new professions in the field.

To strengthen the training of nursing informatics talents and promote the development of the discipline, the Sichuan Provincial Bioinformatics Society will hold a Nursing Informatics Seminar on August 26, 2021, at the West China Clinical Medical College of Sichuan University. The seminar will feature a lecture by Professor Liu Jialin, an expert in the field of information nursing and medical informatics, as well as an on-site book presentation of "Essentials of Nursing Informatics."
