In accordance with the "Constitution of the Communist Party of China" and the "Interim Regulations on the Election Work of Primary Party Organizations of the Communist Party of China," and with the approval of the higher-level Party organization, the Party Branch of the Sichuan Provincial Bioinformatics Society held its new term Party Branch Committee election meeting on May 24, 2024. All Party members participated in this meeting, which was chaired by Comrade Li Xiaoyu.

At the meeting, Comrade Li Xiaoyu first read out the "Reply on Agreeing to the Convening of the Party Branch Election and the Establishment of the Party Branch Committee Meeting of the Sichuan Provincial Bioinformatics Society" by the Party Committee of the Provincial Association for Science and Technology. Secretary Chen Lijun, on behalf of the last term's Party Branch Committee, reported to the Party members' meeting, summarizing the main achievements of the Party Branch work over the past two years and analyzing the existing problems. The meeting introduced the basic situation of the new term Party Branch Committee candidates and read out the election methods, as well as the list of supervisors and counters. All Party members strictly followed the election procedures and adopted the method of equal/indirect election by secret ballot by Party members to vote for the candidates. The meeting elected Comrade Li Xiaoyu as the new term Party Branch Secretary, and Comrades Zhou Jiaoqiao, Zong Hui, and Wang Jiao were respectively elected as the Discipline Inspection Commissioner, Organization Commissioner, and Publicity Commissioner, and the Party Branch Committee was established.

Professor Shen Bairong, the chairman of the Sichuan Provincial Bioinformatics Society, spoke, stating that Party members should constantly demand of themselves, do practical work well, and truly understand the spirit of the Communist Party of China. Finally, Chen Jun, the secretary of the United Front Work Department of the Sichuan Provincial Association for Science and Technology Social Organizations, congratulated the new term of the Party Branch Committee on its establishment. He said that among the many societies of the Provincial Association for Science and Technology, this is a young team with a long way to go, and he affirmed the work of the last term's secretary, hoping that our young Party member team will play the role of the Party Branch's fighting fortress and political leadership.
