In-depth implementation of the "Healthy China 2030" Planning Outline, the opinions on promoting the development of "Internet+ Medical Health", the notice on further improving the appointment system and strengthening the construction of smart hospitals, and the trial system of the hospital smart service grading assessment standards, and other documents issued by the State Council and the National Health Commission, to advance the Healthy China strategy and promote the deep integration of emerging industries such as the Internet+, big data, and artificial intelligence with medical management, the establishment meeting of the Smart Medical Services Branch of the Sichuan Provincial Bioinformatics Society, led by West China Hospital of Sichuan University, was successfully held in Chengdu on the morning of June 6, 2021. One hundred and eight committee members from Chengdu, Deyang, Ya'an, Mianyang, Mianzhou, Meishan, Suining, Dazhou, Ziyang, Yibin, Luzhou, Bazhong, Guang'an, Guangyuan, Leshan, Jiangyou, Pengzhou, Qionglai, Zigong, Panzhihua, Ganzi Prefecture, Liangshan Prefecture, and Aba Prefecture attended the meeting.

    The establishment of this branch has received high attention and strong support from leaders at all levels. Zhou Liping, Deputy Secretary of the Party Group of Sichuan Provincial Association for Science and Technology and Vice Chairman, Xiang Zaomin, Deputy Director of the Medical Administration Department of Sichuan Provincial Health Commission, and Zeng Yong, Deputy Dean of West China Hospital of Sichuan University, and other leaders attended the meeting and delivered speeches. First, Vice Chairman Zhou Liping congratulated the convening of the establishment meeting of the branch. She pointed out that the establishment of this branch aims to form an interdisciplinary team and promote disciplinary linkage and innovation. 

    At the same time, on behalf of the Sichuan Provincial Association for Science and Technology, Vice Chairman Zhou Liping hopes that the branch will work diligently and be innovative to make new and greater contributions to the innovative development of our province's medical services and the construction of a strong country in science and technology!

    Xiang Zaomin pointed out that the theme of this conference is "Smart Management, Innovative Medical Services," aiming to explore the deep integration of medical management and informatization under the background of the new era, to achieve refined smart management of hospitals. It is hoped that the establishment of this branch can provide a new platform for the theoretical research and practical development of smart medical management and jointly promote the development of smart medical management.

    Professor Zeng Yong said in his speech that the establishment of this branch will apply the knowledge of bioinformatics to medical management, explore new ideas and directions for "smart medical treatment" facing medical staff, "smart services" facing patients, and "smart management" facing hospital management, cultivate talents in "smart management," and hope to contribute new strength to the development of smart medical services.

    According to the society's articles of association, through democratic election, Professor Zeng Yong, Deputy Dean of West China Hospital of Sichuan University, was elected as the first honorary president of the branch. Chen Min from West China Hospital of Sichuan University was elected as the first president of the branch. Wu Jinlin, Pu Jie, Zhang Yan, Wu Banghua, Zeng Zhaoyu from West China Second Hospital of Sichuan University, Zhou Hong from Sichuan Provincial People's Hospital, Liu Qiwang, Song Ping, Luo Kai, and Chen Xiangjun from West China Hospital of Sichuan University were elected as vice presidents. Chen Xiangjun also serves as the secretary-general, and Fu Dan, Shen Donglin, Deng Jing, and Zhao Yiyang serve as deputy secretary-generals. At the same time, 45 executive committee members including He Rui were elected. Professor Huang Jian, Vice Chairman of the Sichuan Provincial Bioinformatics Society, presented the plaque to the Smart Medical Services Branch.

    The branch held its first medical management academic conference on the same morning. Minister Yang Cui from West China Hospital of Sichuan University, Minister Chen Li from Chengdu Third People's Hospital, Deputy Minister Zhou Hong from Sichuan Provincial People's Hospital, and Teacher Zhang Rui from West China Hospital of Sichuan University each gave a wonderful keynote speech.

    The establishment of the Smart Medical Services Branch of the Sichuan Provincial Bioinformatics Society is conducive to gathering expert talent resources in medical management and informatics in Sichuan Province, promoting disciplinary linkage and innovation, building a platform for communication, learning, and application of smart medical management, and making important contributions to the innovation, development, application, and talent training of local medical management, contributing new strength to the development of medical management in China.
