【Society News】Establishment Ceremony of the Minimally Invasive Gastroenterology Branch of Sichuan Provincial Bioinformatics Society and the 100th Public Welfare Academic Activity of China ERAT Alliance Concludes Successfully

    On July 10th-11th, 2021, the establishment ceremony of the Minimally Invasive Gastroenterology Branch of the Sichuan Provincial Bioinformatics Society and the 100th public welfare academic activity of the China ERAT Alliance were successfully held at the Xinhua Hotel in Chengdu, Sichuan. The conference was hosted by the Sichuan Provincial Bioinformatics Society and undertaken by the Gastroenterology Department of the Fourth Hospital of West China Medical Center, Sichuan University. Nearly 300 gastroenterology and endoscopy experts from inside and outside the province attended this academic event.

    The conference chair was held by President Zhang Ben of the Fourth Hospital of West China Medical Center, Sichuan University, and the executive chair was held by Director Liao Juan of the Gastroenterology Department/Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Center of the same hospital. On July 10th, colleagues from nearly 80 hospitals in Sichuan province witnessed the establishment of the Minimally Invasive Gastroenterology Branch, with Director Liao Juan of the Gastroenterology Department of the Fourth Hospital of West China Medical Center elected as the president of the branch. Director Liao reported on the preparation of the branch and its purpose of "everyone participating, building, and sharing together," adhering to the original intention of medical professionals, jointly promoting the development of minimally invasive gastroenterology diagnosis and treatment technology, and achieving the goals of academic achievements and patient well-being.

    On July 11th, the first Minimally Invasive Gastroenterology Academic Conference and the 100th public welfare academic activity of the China ERAT Alliance were held. President Zhang Ben delivered the opening speech of the conference. Professor Liu Bingrong, the founder of Chinese ERAT technology and a renowned international gastrointestinal endoscopy expert, awarded the Sichuan branch of the China ERAT Alliance. Experts and professors from Renji Hospital in Shanghai, Gulou Hospital in Nanjing, the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University, West China Hospital of Sichuan University, and Sichuan Provincial People's Hospital shared academic insights, providing a splendid academic feast for the gastroenterology community.

    On the afternoon of July 11th, case sharing sessions and nursing sessions were held for academic exchange and discussion. Experts from all over the country presented exciting academic lectures and clinical case sharing for the attendees, and provided academic Q&A for the participants, creating a strong academic atmosphere.

    The establishment of the Minimally Invasive Gastroenterology Branch of the Sichuan Provincial Bioinformatics Society and the academic activities have built a new platform for young medical and nursing staff for academic exchange. Participants not only learned about the experience and achievements of well-known domestic experts but also provided a stage for young medical workers to showcase themselves. In the future, the branch will rely on the Minimally Invasive Gastroenterology Branch to carry out various online and offline academic activities, providing an academic platform for in-depth exchange and research cooperation among colleagues, further promoting research, application transformation, and cooperative communication in the fields of clinical diagnosis and treatment, bioinformatics, medical service model innovation, and promoting the in-depth integration and development of minimally invasive gastroenterology and bioinformatics.
