On July 17, 2021, the "Establishment Conference of the Primary Healthcare Branch of Sichuan Provincial Bioinformatics Society," hosted by the Sichuan Provincial Bioinformatics Society, was held in Chengdu. Over 100 primary healthcare medical staff, management personnel, and technical personnel from medical institutions at all levels across the province attended the conference.

    Chen Bin, Secretary-General of the Sichuan Provincial Bioinformatics Society, introduced the basic situation and development course of the Sichuan Provincial Bioinformatics Society in his speech. He congratulated the establishment of the Primary Healthcare Branch and expressed his hopes for the future work of the branch.

    At the conference, through democratic election by the participants, Director Li Shuangqing of the General Practice Department of West China Hospital of Sichuan University was elected as the Honorary President of the branch, and Deputy Director Su Qiaoli of the General Practice Department of West China Hospital of Sichuan University was elected as the President of the branch. Director Li Yi of the Health and Social Affairs Department of the Community Governance and Social Affairs Bureau of Sichuan Tianfu New Area, Director Chen Hong of the General Practice Medical Center of Sichuan Provincial People's Hospital, Director Liu Shiping of the General Practice Department of North Sichuan Medical College, Director Zhong Wen of the General Practice Department of Chengdu Third People's Hospital, Director Wang Wei of Xinhua Shaocheng Community Health Service Center in Qingyang District, and Dr. Zhang Lin of the General Practice Department of West China Hospital of Sichuan University were elected as Vice Presidents of the branch. Peng Chaoming and 24 other medical staff, management personnel, and technical personnel were elected as the Executive Committee members of the branch; Yang Shancheng and 52 others were elected as members of the branch. Secretary-General Chen Bin of the society awarded the branch with a plaque and issued appointment letters to the elected Honorary President, President, and Vice Presidents.

    Subsequently, Honorary President Li Shuangqing shared the role of information technology in medical institutions at all levels and expressed his hopes for the better implementation of information technology in primary healthcare institutions in the future. President Su Qiaoli introduced the composition of the branch members in terms of gender ratio, origin, age distribution, education and professional titles, professional direction, and types of units. She shared the opinions and suggestions on the work content and development of the branch collected through a questionnaire survey during the preparation of the conference. She put forward specific requirements for the next steps of the branch's work and stated that the main goals of the branch's work will be to implement chronic disease management, adapt technology for primary use, and achieve information integration among medical institutions at all levels. Vice Presidents Wang Wei, Zhong Wen, and Zhang Lin also made speeches.

   In the final  of the conference, all members of the conference actively spoke and discussed, contributing ideas and strategies for the next steps and development of the branch. The establishment conference was a complete success amidst the wonderful speeches of the members and the warm discussions full of laughter.
