On December 26, 2021, the "Inaugural Meeting of the Internet Hospital Management Branch of Sichuan Bioinformatics Society and the First Academic Conference of the Internet Hospital Management Branch," hosted by the Sichuan Bioinformatics Society and undertaken by West China Hospital of Sichuan University, was successfully held at Pengshan Evergrande Hotel in Chengdu. Leaders and technical experts in internet hospital management from dozens of institutions within the province attended this academic event.

Vice President Cheng Nansheng of West China Hospital of Sichuan University attached great importance to the establishment of the branch and delivered an opening speech at the inaugural meeting.

At the establishment meeting, through democratic election, Director Wan Zhi of the Outpatient Department of West China Hospital of Sichuan University was elected as the Honorary President; Director Wu Yongkang of the Internet Hospital Management Office of West China Hospital of Sichuan University was elected as the President; Nurse Manager Liu Xinru of the Outpatient Department of the Second Hospital of West China, Director Zhou Hong of the Remote Medical Consultation Center of Sichuan Provincial People's Hospital, Director Hao Zeyu of the Internet Hospital Management Office of the Affiliated Hospital of Southwest Medical University, Deputy Minister Xiao Guojin of the Outpatient Department of the Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Minister Feng Jiangchao of the Medical Affairs Department of the Affiliated Hospital of North Sichuan Medical College, Director Lang Mingjian of the Medical Affairs Department of the Fifth People's Hospital of Chengdu, Director Chen Zhonglun of the Medical Affairs Department of Mianyang Central Hospital, and Minister Yang Jie of the Business Development Department of the Chengdu Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Hospital were elected as Vice Presidents; Liang Lanyu of the Internet Hospital Management Office of West China Hospital of Sichuan University was elected as the Secretary-General; 31 people were elected as Executive Committee members; 114 people were elected as members.

    In the academic lecture session, experts from West China Hospital of Sichuan University, Sichuan Provincial People's Hospital, National Internet Medical Health Industry Alliance, Chengdu Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Hospital, Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine Affiliated Hospital, and the Fifth People's Hospital of Chengdu presented a splendid academic feast for colleagues in internet hospital management.

    At the end of the conference, a roundtable discussion was held by experts from West China Hospital of Sichuan University, the Second Hospital of West China, West China Business School, Tencent Health, and Huaxi Public Utilities. They deeply discussed the issues faced by internet hospitals, clarified the development ideas for boosting the development of internet hospitals, and brought the conference to a climax.

    The establishment of the Internet Hospital Management Branch has built an academic exchange platform for experts and scholars in related fields, provided opportunities for cooperation, and promoted the integrated development of multiple disciplines such as the internet, medical technology, artificial intelligence, wearable devices, and chronic disease management, helping the standardized and rapid development of internet hospitals.
