On December 25-26, 2021, guided by the Sichuan Provincial Association for Science and Technology and hosted by the Sichuan Bioinformatics Society, the "Inaugural Meeting and First Academic Forum of the Precision Medicine Branch of Sichuan Bioinformatics Society" was held with great ceremony in Chengdu. Experts, scholars, and related enterprises from various fields such as bioinformatics, genetics, testing, pharmacy, imaging, cell biology, and clinical practice across the province participated in this grand event.

    Dr. Chen Bin, Secretary-General of the Sichuan Bioinformatics Society, congratulated and delivered a speech at the meeting. Dr. Chen pointed out that the establishment of the Precision Medicine Branch aims to organize professionals, pool resources and interdisciplinary talents, build an academic exchange platform, and promote the development of the discipline. Dr. He Jianxiong, a member of the preparatory group of the Precision Medicine Branch, reported on the preparatory work.

    After the election at the establishment meeting, Professor Xie Dan from West China Hospital of Sichuan University was elected as the President of the Precision Medicine Branch of the Sichuan Bioinformatics Society. Associate Professor Liu Kang from Nanchang Central Hospital, Professor Yang Jiyun from Sichuan Provincial People's Hospital, Professor Song Yongyan from Chengdu University Hospital, Professor Wan Haisu from the Affiliated Hospital of Southwest Medical University, Professor Wang Dongsheng from Sichuan Cancer Hospital, Professor Sun Hongyu from the General Hospital of the Western Theater Command, Associate Professor Zhou Yan from Mianyang Central Hospital, and Dr. He Jianxiong from Chengdu Beidi Biological Technology Co., Ltd. were elected as Vice Presidents, with Associate Professor Liu Kang and Dr. He Jianxiong also serving as Secretaries-General.     Secretary-General Chen Bin of the Sichuan Bioinformatics Society officially presented the plaque to the Precision Medicine Branch. Professor Xie Dan, the newly elected President, pointed out that the establishment of the Precision Medicine Branch has built a good platform for communication and exchange among precision medicine professionals in the province, which will surely promote the development of precision medicine in the province. Professor Xie also put forward specific requirements for the future work of the branch.

    The first academic forum of the Precision Medicine Branch, oriented towards clinical application, focused on discussing and debating frontier progress in precision medicine in fields such as tumor predictive typing and liquid biopsy, personalized testing and treatment of hyperlipidemia, prenatal screening and diagnosis, and reproductive development, bringing a splendid academic feast to the participants and receiving unanimous praise.

    The inaugural meeting and the first academic forum of the Precision Medicine Branch of the Sichuan Bioinformatics Society concluded successfully amidst the enthusiastic discussions of the experts. The conference brought the most cutting-edge knowledge and emerging technologies in the field of precision medicine, broadened academic horizons, stimulated intellectual collisions, and pointed the way for the future of precision medicine.
