On December 25, 2021, the establishment ceremony of the "Sichuan Bioinformatics Society Neurology Branch" was successfully held in Tianfu New Area, Chengdu, Sichuan Province. The event was organized by the Sichuan Bioinformatics Society and co-hosted by the Neurology Branch, Chengdu Second People's Hospital, Chengdu Third People's Hospital, The Affiliated NanChong Central Hospital of North Sichuan Medical College, Ya'an People's Hospital, The Affiliated Hospital of Southwest Medical Center, Panzhihua College, and Mianyang Third People's Hospital. At the concise and grand establishment ceremony, Professor Shen Bairong, the chairman of the Sichuan Bioinformatics Society, congratulated and delivered a speech. Professor Shen pointed out that the purpose of establishing the "Sichuan Bioinformatics Society Neurology Branch" is to organize relevant professionals, pool resources and interdisciplinary talents, build an academic exchange platform, and promote the development of the discipline. Professor Liu Hua, the head of the preparatory group of the Neurology Branch, reported on the preparatory work.

    Subsequently, according to the agenda of the meeting, 107 members and 33 executive members of the first session were democratically elected by the participants. From the executive members, the first leadership team of the Neurology Branch was elected. Professor Liu Hua from Chengdu Third People's Hospital was elected as the president of the branch, Professor Wang Jian from Chengdu Second People's Hospital, Professor Ji Yifei from The Affiliated NanChong Central Hospital of North Sichuan Medical College, Director Wang Jian from Ya'an People's Hospital, Director Zhang Yi from Panzhihua College, Professor Bai Xue from The Affiliated Hospital of Southwest Medical Center, and Director Liu Bo from Mianyang Third People's Hospital were elected as vice presidents of the branch, and Zhou Kuang from Chengdu Third People's Hospital was elected as the secretary-general of the branch.

    Professor Liu Hua, the newly appointed president of the Neurology Branch, pointed out that the establishment of the "Sichuan Bioinformatics Society Neurology Branch" is a very meaningful event for the neurology professionals in our province and will surely promote the integration of bioinformatics and neurology in our province. It will play an important role in improving clinical diagnosis and treatment levels, promoting scientific research transformation, as well as in discipline construction and academic exchanges. Professor Liu Hua congratulated the establishment of the Neurology Branch and put forward specific requirements for the next work of the branch.

    The "Sichuan Bioinformatics Society Neurology Branch" was established with the joint efforts of Chengdu Third People's Hospital, Chengdu Second People's Hospital, The Affiliated NanChong Central Hospital of North Sichuan Medical College, Ya'an People's Hospital, The Affiliated Hospital of Southwest Medical Center, Panzhihua College, and Mianyang Third People's Hospital, and was approved by the Sichuan Bioinformatics Society. The Sichuan Information Society is committed to serving the big health industry and people's livelihood, integrating multiple disciplines such as biology, medicine, informatics, artificial intelligence, and big data. Under the leadership of the general society, the Neurology Branch will surely promote the integration of basic research and clinical application in neurology in Sichuan Province, help scientific research to go deep and achieve results, accelerate the integration of industry, academia, and research, and promote the collaborative development of medical care, nursing, patients, capital, government, enterprises, research, and education.
