【Organizational Construction】Preparatory Meeting of the Artificial Intelligence-Hematology Branch of the Sichuan Bioinformatics Society Successfully Held

On September 17, 2023, the preparatory meeting for the Artificial Intelligence-Hematology Branch of the Sichuan Bioinformatics Society was successfully convened online. Professor Jia Yongqian, Professor Zheng Yuhuan, Professor Wu Yu, and Professor Zhang Li from West China Hospital of Sichuan University, Professor Huang Xiaobing and Professor Li Hui from Sichuan Provincial People's Hospital, Professor Li Xiaoming and Professor Huang Chunlan from the Affiliated Hospital of Southwest Medical University, Professor Su Yi and Professor Yi Hai from the General Hospital of the Western Theater Command, Professor Wei Jin and Professor Zou Xingli from the Affiliated Hospital of North Sichuan Medical College, and Deputy Secretary-General Zhou Jueqiao of the Society attended the meeting.

During this preparatory meeting, multi-dimensional exchanges and discussions were held on the organizational structure, workflow, initiating units, and main tasks of the Artificial Intelligence-Hematology Branch. A preliminary plan for member recruitment and development goals was formulated.

Professor Jia Yongqian introduced the significance of establishing the Artificial Intelligence-Hematology Branch, stating that the establishment of the branch will help promote the deep integration of hematology and artificial intelligence, meet the needs of members, promote the rapid development of the discipline, and achieve close cooperation between multiple disciplines.

Deputy Secretary-General Zhou Jueqiao pointed out that with the increasing application of artificial intelligence in the field of hematology, continuous exploration and innovation, the establishment of the Hematology Branch can better meet the needs of members and the development of the discipline, and achieve linkage between multiple disciplines. With the increasing research combining ChatGPT and medicine, artificial intelligence provides a better scientific research platform for hematology research. The establishment of the branch can promote the integration of hematology and artificial intelligence within the province, and jointly create a platform for multidisciplinary cooperation, scientific research results, and the transformation of achievements.

The convening of this preparatory meeting marks the official launch of the construction work of the Artificial Intelligence-Hematology Branch, providing a solid foundation for the integration of hematology and artificial intelligence in Sichuan Province. The experts and professors at the meeting not only discussed the organizational structure and workflow together but also set clear development goals for the future of the branch. This new academic platform will promote cooperation and knowledge sharing in related fields, providing strong support for cutting-edge research in the fields of hematology and artificial intelligence.
