In order to promote academic exchanges in the fields of bioinformatics and artificial intelligence in intensive medicine in Sichuan Province, actively disseminate bioinformatics industry, academia, and research practical experience conducive to the development of advanced industries and the transformation of technology, carry out continuing medical education, organize members and medical science and technology workers to learn business, continuously update the medical science and technology knowledge of members and medical science and technology workers, improve the level of medical science and technology and research, promote the organic integration of industry, academia, and research, and promote the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, the intersectional development of medicine and engineering, and contribute to the Healthy China strategy. On November 16-17, 2023, the establishment conference and academic meeting of the Intensive Medicine - Artificial Intelligence Branch of the Sichuan Province Bioinformatics Society were grandly held in Chengdu.

   This conference attracted the enthusiastic participation of outstanding experts and scholars from various fields in Sichuan Province. Professor Kang Yan from West China Hospital of Sichuan University, Professor Wang Yunbing, Dean of the School of Biomedical Engineering at Sichuan University, Professor Jia Lingyun, Dean of the School of Bioengineering at Dalian University of Technology, Professor Wang Bo from West China Hospital of Sichuan University, Professor Lei Xianying from the Affiliated Hospital of Southwest Medical University, Professor Long Kunlan from the Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Professor He Hongli from Sichuan Provincial Academy of Medical Sciences and Sichuan Provincial People's Hospital, Professor Ding Xuefeng from the Affiliated Hospital of North Sichuan Medical College, Professor Zhu Junchen from the Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu University, Professor Lai Wei and Professor Li Xiaojin from West China Hospital of Sichuan University, Secretary-General Zeng Guojun of the Sichuan Province Bioinformatics Society, Deputy Secretary-General Zhou Juqiao, and more than 110 experts and scholars from related fields across the country attended the establishment conference. Through a standardized election process, the first session of the branch members was democratically elected. Comrade Kang Yan from West China Hospital of Sichuan University was elected as the director of the committee; Wang Yunbing, Jia Lingyun, Wang Bo, Ding Xuefeng, He Hongli, Lai Wei, Lei Xianying, Li Xiaojin, Long Kunlan, and Zhu Junchen were elected as deputy directors; 47 comrades such as Cao Haiquan were elected as executive committee members.

   Director Committee Member Kang Yan said: The branch should promote the integration of academic exchanges in the fields of bioinformatics and artificial intelligence in intensive medicine, share practical experience in the development and transformation of advanced industries and technology, carry out continuing medical education, organize members and medical science and technology workers to improve the level of medical science and technology research, promote the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, accelerate the integration of medicine and engineering, intersectional development, promote GCP research on drugs and devices, solve "bottleneck" medical science and technology issues, and contribute to the Healthy China strategy. Secretary-General Zeng Guojun of the Sichuan Province Bioinformatics Society delivered a speech, pointing out that intensive medicine and artificial intelligence are important directions for the development of the medical field today. With the continuous development of technology, artificial intelligence technology has gradually penetrated all aspects of the medical field and has become an important force in promoting the development of the medical industry. As an important part of the medical field, intensive medicine also needs to continuously adapt and update treatment methods and technologies to improve the survival rate and cure rate of patients. Therefore, the combination of intensive medicine and artificial intelligence is an inevitable trend and an important mission of our society. We will pay attention to the latest technological progress and innovative achievements, introduce and promote new technologies and methods in a timely manner. At the same time, we will also focus on talent training and team building to improve the academic level and professional ability of members.    First, the launch ceremony of the Intensive Medicine - Artificial Intelligence Branch of the Sichuan Province Bioinformatics Society was held. Professor Shen Bairong, President of the Sichuan Province Bioinformatics Society, presented the branch plaque to Director Committee Member Kang Yan and delivered a speech.

   Next was the exciting academic session. Professor Wang Yunbing from the School of Biomedical Engineering at Sichuan University, Professor Jia Lingyun from the School of Bioengineering at Dalian University of Technology, Professor Duan Lei from the School of Computer Science (Software School) at Sichuan University, Professor Guo Qiang from Suzhou University Affiliated Dushu Lake Hospital, Professor Ma Fuqiang from the Suzhou Institute of Biomedical Engineering and Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Shen Bairong from West China Hospital of Sichuan University, brought a wonderful academic feast to the attendees.

    At the meeting site, different professors served as hosts, discussing and exchanging ideas on the different lectures by experts, with sparks of thought collision continuously, making this academic feast even more exciting.
