【Organizational Construction + Meeting Dynamics】The Establishment of the Digital Health Branch of Sichuan Bioinformatics Society and the Academic Conference Were Successfully Held!
To promote academic exchange in the field of bioinformatics and digital health in Sichuan Province, actively disseminate bioinformatics industry, academic, and research practical experience that is conducive to the development of advanced industries and the transformation of technology, and gather experts and scholars from the industry to discuss the development trends, challenges, and opportunities in the field of digital health, a new impetus was injected into the prosperity and development of the digital health industry. The establishment of the Digital Health Branch of Sichuan Bioinformatics Society and the Academic Conference were grandly held in Chengdu from December 15th to 16th, 2023.
Through a standardized election process, the first members of the branch were democratically elected, with Comrade Zeng Guojun from West China Hospital of Sichuan University elected as the director; Comrades Xu Mingqing, Chen Liping, Liu Ming, Wan Meihua, Chen Xinzu, Liu Kai, Wu Yongkang, and Li Ang were elected as deputy directors; and 44 comrades including Chen Junjie were elected as executive committee members.
Director Zeng Guojun expressed that digital health is now applied in various disciplines and departments such as internal medicine, surgery, gynecology, pediatrics, critical care, and pharmacy, as well as in scientific research, teaching, and the administrative and logistical management of hospitals. We should organize interdisciplinary and inter-domain experts, use the branch as a platform to strengthen academic exchanges, promote scientific cooperation, and contribute our wisdom and strength to the development of the digital health cause. At the same time, we should also actively establish cooperative relations with relevant domestic and foreign institutions and enterprises, expand cooperation channels, and enhance the level of cooperation to inject more vitality and momentum into the development of the digital health cause. Let us work together, forge ahead, and strive to promote the development of bioinformatics and digital health.
President Shen Bairong of the Sichuan Bioinformatics Society delivered a speech, pointing out that with the continuous advancement of technology and the rapid development of the times, the application of bioinformatics in the field of digital health is becoming more and more extensive, which is of great significance for promoting the development of medical and health science fields. Therefore, the establishment of the Digital Health Branch is not only an inevitable trend in line with the development of the times but also a concrete manifestation of our society's initiative and active actions. The establishment of the Digital Health Branch means that we will have a more professional platform to study new theories, new technologies, and new applications of bioinformatics in the field of digital health. Through this platform, we can better gather outstanding scientific research forces from the whole province and even the whole country to carry out interdisciplinary and inter-domain scientific cooperation and promote the innovative development of the digital health cause. At the same time, we can also cooperate more deeply with medical institutions, public health departments, etc., to transform scientific research results into practical applications and contribute to the health and well-being of the people.
Finally, Professor Shen Bairong, President of the Sichuan Bioinformatics Society, awarded the branch plaque to the Digital Health Branch, and then all the people present took a group photo to commemorate the occasion.
The establishment conference came to a successful conclusion. The next day, the academic conference of the Digital Health Branch of the Sichuan Bioinformatics Society was grandly opened. An academic conference focusing on the frontier of academia and promoting the development of the field officially kicked off. This academic conference gathered many outstanding experts and scholars in the fields of bioinformatics and digital health to discuss new academic insights and inject new vitality into the development of the branch.
Professor Shen Minghui, Deputy Director of Sichuan Provincial Health Information Center / Sichuan Provincial Health Medical Big Data Center, pointed out in his speech that we should closely focus on the national strategy and serve the development of the national health cause. We should strengthen interdisciplinary and inter-domain cooperation and promote innovative development in the field of digital health. We should pay attention to the ethical issues of digital health to ensure its healthy development. In the process of developing digital health, we should pay attention to ethical issues such as data security and privacy protection to ensure the healthy development of digital health.
