【Organizational Construction + Meeting Dynamics】2023 China (Sichuan) - South Korea Medical Technology Exchange Promotion Meeting and the 10th International Conference on Translational Medical Informatics (ICTI2023) Held Successfully!

   With the rapid development of biotechnology, translational medical informatics has become an increasingly important field. To strengthen academic exchanges, promote industry-academia-research cooperation, and further promote the development of China's translational medical informatics field, from December 15th to 16th, 2023, the 2023 China (Sichuan) - South Korea Medical Technology Exchange Promotion Meeting and the 10th International Conference on Translational Medical Informatics (ICTI2023) was held with great ceremony in Chengdu.

   This conference attracted the enthusiastic participation of outstanding experts and scholars from various fields at home and abroad. Deputy Director Chen Xuehua of Sichuan Provincial Department of Science and Technology, Science and Technology Officer Li Zhenshou of the Korean Embassy in China, Deputy Director Wu Yushan of Chengdu Municipal Health Commission, Representative Jin Zhongwen of the Korean Innovation Center in China (KIC China), Academician Zhang Bolun of the European Health Sciences Academy, Academician Zhou Guangming of the International Academy of Astronautics from Suzhou University, Academician Lv Xudong of the European Health Sciences Academy from Zhejiang University, Professor Wang Shuang, founder and chairman of Nuowei Technology, Professor Liu Ganqiang from Sun Yat-sen University, Vice President Zeng Zhu from Guizhou Medical University, Professor Horimoto Katsuhisa from the Japanese Industrial Research Institute, Professor Huang Jian from the University of Electronic Science and Technology, President Shen Bairong of the Sichuan Bioinformatics Society, President Ran Longke of the Chongqing Bioinformatics Society, Secretary-General Cao Junyue of the Guangxi Bioinformatics Society, and more than 200 experts and scholars from related fields across the country attended the conference.

   On the evening of December 15th, the Sichuan Bioinformatics Society held the establishment meeting of the Youth Committee. Through a standardized election process, the first Youth Committee members were democratically elected. Comrade Shen Bairong from West China Hospital of Sichuan University was elected as the director; Comrades Ma Jun, Shi Mingsong, Li Jiajun, and Zhou Yi were elected as deputy directors; and 17 comrades including Ai Jianzhong were elected as executive committee members.

   The establishment meeting of the Youth Committee of the Sichuan Bioinformatics Society came to a successful conclusion.

   Subsequently, researchers Ai Jianzhong from West China Hospital of Sichuan University, Professor Shi Zheng from the Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu University Clinical Medical College, and Deputy Director/Deputy Director of the Fourth People's Hospital of Pengzhou, Chengdu, Wang Ziqi, gave special reports respectively.

   On the morning of December 16th, at 9 o'clock, the 2023 China (Sichuan) - South Korea Medical Technology Exchange Promotion Meeting and the 10th International Conference on Translational Medical Informatics (ICTI2023) was grandly opened.

   The opening ceremony was first held, with Deputy Director Chen Xuehua of Sichuan Provincial Department of Science and Technology, Science and Technology Officer Li Zhenshou of the Korean Embassy in China, Deputy Director Wu Yushan of Chengdu Municipal Health Commission, Representative Jin Zhongwen of the Korean Innovation Center in China (KIC China), and President Shen Bairong of the Sichuan Bioinformatics Society delivering speeches respectively.

   President Shen Bairong expressed that the Sichuan Bioinformatics Society has been committed to promoting interdisciplinary research between biomedicine and information science. By building a cooperative platform, connecting experts, scholars, enterprises, and governments, it has promoted innovation and development in the field of bioinformatics. We look forward to in-depth cooperation with the Korean Innovation Center in China (KIC China) to jointly explore the frontiers of science and technology, promote exchanges and cooperation between China and South Korea in the field of bioinformatics, and make contributions to human health and well-being. We believe that our cooperation will bring more opportunities and achievements to both parties.

   Then, the MOU signing ceremony was held. Sichuan Western International Technology Transfer Center and the Korean Innovation Center in China (KIC China), Sichuan Bioinformatics Society and the Korean Innovation Center in China (KIC China) signed on the spot respectively.

   Next, at the sub-forum of the 10th International Conference on Translational Medical Informatics, Presidents Shen Bairong of the Sichuan Bioinformatics Society, Ran Longke of the Chongqing Bioinformatics Society, and Chen Qingfeng of the Guangxi Bioinformatics Society delivered speeches respectively.

   After the speeches, all the guests took a group photo.

   The following was a wonderful academic report session. In the morning, Academician Zhang Bolun from the International Health Sciences Information Institute (Switzerland), Professor Zhou Guangming from Suzhou University, and Academician Lv Xudong from Zhejiang University gave reports on the topics of "Translational Regression and Paradigm Transformation," "Risk and Mechanism of Tumor Occurrence Induced by Space Radiation Environment," and "Information Decision Support in Tumor Precision Diagnosis and Treatment," respectively.

   In the afternoon, Professor Wang Shuang, founder and chairman of Nuowei Technology, Professor Liu Ganqiang from Sun Yat-sen University, Vice President Zeng Zhu from Guizhou Medical University, Professor Horimoto Katsuhisa from the Japanese Industrial Research Institute, and Professor Huang Jian from the University of Electronic Science and Technology, gave academic reports on the topics of "Privacy Computing Empowers Secure Sharing of Biomedical Big Data," "Genetic Insights for the Progression of Parkinson's Disease," "Aberrant R-loop-mediated Immune Evasion, Cellular Communication, and Metabolic Reprogramming Affect Cancer Progression," "Discovery of Drug and Its Target Identification by Drug Repurposing Platform," and "Bioinformatics Exploration of the Acquired Immune System of Bacteria," respectively.

  Through this academic conference, we not only learned about the latest research results and application cases in the field of translational medical informatics but also promoted academic exchanges and institutional cooperation. Experts shared their academic achievements and innovative ideas on multiple topics, discussed the current challenges and opportunities in the field. Through exchanges with experts from around the world, the development of the field of translational medical informatics was further promoted, and a platform was also provided for the development of young talents.
