2024 Sino-German-Finnish Life Sciences Forum International Conference on Translational Medical Informatics Successfully Held in Chengdu!

   From August 2 to 5, 2024, the 11th Academic Conference of the 2024 Sino-German-Finnish Life Sciences Forum on International Translational Medical Informatics was successfully held in Chengdu! With the theme "Frontiers of Life Sciences and Medicine in the Era of Artificial Intelligence," the forum gathered over 190,000 experts, professors, and scholars from various fields both online and offline. This conference was not only a platform for academic exchange but also an important opportunity to promote international cooperation and advance the development of medical sciences.

   The conference officially opened on August 3, 2024. At the opening ceremony, Professor Shen Bairong from West China Hospital of Sichuan University emphasized the significance of the conference, stating: "With the continuous advancement of technology, international academic exchanges and cooperation have become increasingly important. This conference is held against this backdrop, aiming to promote international exchanges and cooperation among the three countries and beyond in the fields of life sciences and intelligent medicine."

   Following the opening ceremony, under the chairmanship of Professor Huang Jian, Deputy Director Liu Bangyao of the Southwest Center for Technology Transfer and Shen Bairong, the Chairman of Sichuan Bioinformatics Society, held a signing ceremony.

   After the signing ceremony, all participants of the conference took a group photo to commemorate the event.

   Next, Professor Long Manyuan from the University of Chicago shared his insights on "The Origin of Genes: Evolutionary Forces and Theoretical Models." He unveiled the mysteries of gene evolution to the attendees through detailed data analysis and model construction.

   The discussions at the conference were open and constructive, with experts learning through communication and growing through debate. Their enthusiasm and engagement not only propelled the development of academia but also set an example for young scholars and students present. The discussion was not only an exchange of knowledge and wisdom but also a feast of ideas and spirit.

   Professor Ye Kai from Xi'an Jiaotong University and Professor Lai Xin from Tampere University also shared their insights, with Professor Shen Bairong presiding over this segment. The reports by the three professors not only demonstrated the powerful capabilities of technology, providing new research methods and perspectives, but also inspired new ideas for disease research among the attendees.

   Professors from the University of Helsinki, Tampere University, University of Muenster, Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Fudan University in Shanghai, James Cook University, University of Eastern Finland, and Northwestern Polytechnical University presented their reports, respectively.The venue was packed with top experts in the field, offering a series of intellectual feasts and sparks of knowledge, with participants actively asking questions and a very lively atmosphere.

   On the second day of the conference, Mr. Qiu Guangbin, the project head of Chengdu Frontier Medical Center at Chengdu Gaotou Bio-Pharmaceutical Park Management Co., Ltd., gave an exciting introduction to the Chengdu Frontier Medical Center, showcasing Chengdu's potential and advantages in the field of bio-pharmaceuticals.

   Subsequently, Professor Shen Bairong from West China Hospital of Sichuan University, Professor Liu Ganqiang from Sun Yat-sen University, Professor Deng Cheng from West China Hospital of Sichuan University, Professor Fan Chuanzhu from Wayne State University, Professor Sun Minxuan from Suzhou Institute of Biomedical Engineering and Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Cai Zhigang from Tianjin Medical University, Professor Mohammad Amjad Kamal from King Abdulaziz University, Assistant Researcher Rajeev K. Singla from West China Hospital of Sichuan University, Lecturer and Postdoctoral Fellow Wu Siyuan from James Cook University, Deputy Chief Physician Wang Ziqi from Chengdu Brain Science Research Institute Clinical Hospital of University of Electronic Science and Technology, Deputy Chief Physician Xie Chenchen from Chengdu University Affiliated Hospital · Clinical Medical College, Associate Professor Guo Chuang from University of Science and Technology of China, Postdoctoral Researcher Zong Hui from West China Hospital of Sichuan University, Assistant Researcher and Clinical Doctor Li JiaKun from West China Hospital of Sichuan University, Postdoctoral Researcher Zhang Chi from West China Hospital of Sichuan University, and Dr. Zhang Yingbo from West China Hospital of Sichuan University presented 16 brilliant keynote speeches in succession.
