On the morning of April 19th, the head of the Sichuan Provincial Association for Science and Technology's Society Department, Mr. Ke Jiang, and the researcher, Ms. Lin Hongyan, visited the Sichuan Bioinformatics Society. They toured the society's office space and engaged in work exchanges and guidance. The society's chairman, Shen Bairong, and all staff members attended the meeting.

    At the exchange meeting, Chairman Shen Bairong first warmly welcomed the leaders of the Sichuan Provincial Association for Science and Technology (referred to as "Provincial AST") and introduced the basic situation of the society. The leaders of the Provincial AST affirmed the contributions and influence the society has made in the field of bioinformatics in Sichuan Province, while also pointing out some existing issues. They expressed hope that the society will closely monitor the dynamics of the Provincial AST in the future, actively apply for various scientific and technological projects and popular science activities, strengthen project management and execution, and ensure the smooth implementation of projects to contribute to the innovative development of scientific and technological undertakings. In terms of society management, it was noted that the current staff configuration is insufficient and that the construction and management of the society need further improvement. In terms of party building, the society should further strengthen the construction of the party branch and give full play to the leading role of party building, guiding scientific and technological workers in the field of bioinformatics to listen to the party and follow the party. Focusing on the center to build the party, it is necessary to not only enhance the power of ideological guidance but also to mobilize scientific and technological workers of the society to participate in the central work of the provincial government.

    Mr. Ke indicated that the society should pay more attention to the Tianfu Science and Technology Cloud platform (https://www.tfkjy.cn/), leverage the power of the platform, accurately grasp the needs of scientific and technological workers, integrate existing resources of the society, and provide professional guidance and assistance for researchers to tackle difficulties and key points, achieving intelligent and accurate undertaking of scientific research projects and intelligent and accurate direct popular science services, to better serve the majority of scientific and technological talents.

    Finally, the leaders of the Provincial AST expressed that the Sichuan Provincial Association for Science and Technology is the "home person", encouraging the society to strengthen communication with the Provincial AST. They also hope that the society will actively participate in the fourth Sichuan-Chongqing Science and Technology Academic Conference, contributing positively to building a scientifically and technologically innovative center with national influence in Sichuan and Chongqing, and stimulating the innovative and creative vitality of the whole society.
